Stuff for me noggin
« on: April 18, 2007, 08:14:09 AM »
Hi all now that the sun has started to show its face over here in England im after some good protection for my newly sly head.
I have read the reviews on Ultra Sheer:Dry Touch & Matte for men,but both are unavailable in the UK.
So can anyone from over here recommend anything?

Cheers

I knew I was going bald when it was taking longer and longer to wash my face

Although, I am on the other side of the pond (USA) I think you would be fine with any sun protection cream.  Start off with a higher SPF so you don't burn your noggin from the start.   I use a Nuetrogena (sp?) product that has an SPF 30.  Once I have a little tan on top, I will go with Headshade SPF 15.

Hi Ian-

Ive been using the Matte For Men Lotion since I got it as a present in January. I find it far and away the best Ive ever used. Im sure that they would ship to you in the UK...can always ask them via email.

By the way...it has an SPF 25 and isnt sticky at all!

Hope that helps....

I am really pleased with HeadShade. Have only been shaving for a week , so my scalp is pretty pale, but have not had any burn or redness while on vacation with pretty intense sun. It is starting to get some tan.

Hey Sly Bros.,
I found a new lotion to use on your head and ti feels great.  I found it at walmart and it is called TCB Hair and Scalp COnditioner.  Goes on slick and moisturizes really well and gives you a nice glossy look.  Some like the glossy look others dont...but for me I am trying out all the looks..cause IM SLY!

I've been trying out a few new things lately.  I think it was PBurke that recommended using aloe vera gel from the refridgerator.  Well, along with the ice cubes this week, I thought I would give it a try and it really rocks.  It feels good, its inexpensive, and where I didn't think I would like the shine, I must say that I think I may be more for the shine than the matte finish.  Another plus is that it doesn't leave my head oily like the headlube would after it had been on for awhile.

Thanks for the tip Paul.

no problem bro. oily is an issue for me too. aloe works pretty well. bald guyz wipes or just a cold damp rag work well also.

I've never tried the head wipes (mainly because I hate to shell out $5 for 16 wipes), but I bought a pack of generic cottonelle wipes at Wal-Mart for about $1.50 that seem to work pretty good.  The package says that they have aloe and that was the first time that I noticed what a good shine aloe gives.
