New member, and a freshly shaven head!
« on: May 02, 2016, 04:10:28 PM »
Been really battling with whether or not to keep my thinning bangs or not for the past couple years. But today I decided to just accept reality and shave my head instead of keeping my "glorified combover". A couple forum posts on this site helped me get where I am now, so thank you all for that.

So, honest opinions? Should I go shorter? Or should I just grow it back out?

Go shorter and then try lather and razor it smooth.  Never know until you try it.  Right ?

Where you are now looks good, but you can apply the razor when you feel ready. Good luck!

Welcome!  Nice to have you here.

I'll have to admit that I'm biased towards the bald look and feel.  The short buzzes look like some stubble. From a distance they can appear bald. Up close you see the difference. Up close you feel the difference.  A nice fresh shave on top is very satisfying. Keep the beard.

I agree with Mrzed.  Try a razor shave and get that liberated feeling . But keep and grow the beard for the perfect combo.

With all due respect, you have a buzzcut, you will know when your head is shaved, the feel is awesome. You're pretty close, go for it!

It looks good as it is now but from past experience I can say you will be dying to shave it all the way down soon.

Thanks for all the comments! I'm not sure if I want to go full sly just yet, though its a possibility in a couple years. I guess you could say I went half-sly to test the waters.

There is no timetable on when someone needs to go sly....Everyone in their own time. If you are happy with what is shown in your pictures for now, nothing wrong with that.

If you like the buzzcut keep it, don't go back to longer hair. But you will soon try the bald and bearded look ;)

I think it looks good now, but I have to agree with everyone else. You'll eventually get the itch to shave it all off. I'll also warn you that once you do go completely smooth, it'll be hard for you to want to grow it back. It's like an addiction.
