17 Years old, does my head shape suit being (nearly) bald?
« on: July 07, 2016, 07:34:21 PM »
Hello. I'm 17 years old and decided to give myself a no-guard buzzcut for the summer. so far, i like it. but my concern is that my head shape doesn't really suit it. what do you think?

it won't let me add attachments so i'll link the pictures:

Welcome! I think it suits your headshape well

here's a better side view picture. would it look better fully shaved or should i keep it as a very short buzzcut?

That last picture looks great. I think it looks good as is, but if you want to try the razor shave just for curiosity, you should be back to where you are in the picture in about a week.

I think it suits you well. I'd stick with the buzz cut with you being very young but if you want to try the razor shave, go right ahead like Harry said.

I think that it would look better fully shaved.  As long as your parents are OK with it, at 17 years old you are certainly old enough to choose a shaved head as your hairstyle.  It is just another haircut and is as valid a choice as any other.

Thanks guys. I'll probably do a full shave at some point just out of curiosity, but for now i think i'll leave it as it is. And yes, my parent's don't mind if i shaved it.

It looks great, go with what you are happy with that be it shaved or buzzed.  As the others have said if you shave and leave it, it will soon be back to buzz length.  It can be fun to experiment.

Almost everyone has concerns about head shape when they first shave or buzz their head. It seems a natural thing to worry about. But i think its a great look on most any guy, as long as he carries it with cinfidence. You seem to have that confidence, so do as you please, weather it be to leave it buzzed or go for the full razor shave.

The main difference between a no guard buzz and a razor shave is the feel.  Especially since you don't have dark hair to make a shadow.  Only other head shavers will even notice or make a distinction between the two.

Thanks everyone. I actually decided to razor shave it today, out of curiosity. slybeard was right, it looks very similar except it feels smooth instead of prickly. i have to say, i quite like it.

It looks great razor shaved! The most important part is that you like it. Enjoy!
