Facebook's Live Feed vs News Feed

Most of us are on Facebook, right? If you answered "yes" then you need to become a fan of Sly Bald Guys. Look to the left of this page to find out how. But, that's not why you're reading this so let me get to the point of this post.

In the last couple of days I've seen a lot of my friends get confused as to the new Facebook layout. What's this Live Feed vs. News Feed thing? Here's what the Facebook blog had to say:

"At Facebook, one of our main priorities is helping you stay on top of
what is going on with the people and things you care about most. That's
why today we are beginning to roll out some changes to the home page
that simplify your experience by offering two views of News Feed: a
summary view of the most interesting activity that's happened in the
last day and a real-time view that shows you what is happening right
now.

You will be able to catch up on what you may have missed while you were
away from Facebook and then easily switch to the real-time stream when
you want to see posts as soon as they're shared. Here's how it works:

News Feed

When you log into Facebook, you'll see the most interesting things that
happened in the last day in the "News Feed" view. News Feed picks
stories that we think you'll enjoy based on a variety of factors
including how many friends have liked and commented on it and how
likely you are to interact with that story.

Live Feed

Once you've caught up on what you missed, you can click through to
"Live Feed" to see what's happening right now. As long as you remain
logged into Facebook, you'll continue to see posts and activity from
your friends in real-time. You can edit what appears in this view by
clicking "Edit Options" at the bottom of the home page."

Here's another tip:

If you just want to see people's status updates when you first login, do the following:

Look over to the bottom, left side of the page on Facebook. You should see a link to Status Updates. Click on this and hold down the left mouse button. Now drag that link to the top, just above News Feed. Now when you login, you'll see the Status Updates first.

How long should your razor blade last?

One of the common questions that we get at Sly Bald Guys is "how long should the razor blade last?" While this appears to be a simple question, the answer is not so simple. There are many factors that lead to the degradation of a razor blade. It could be wear and tear, rust, or even the way you store it.

Several of the guys have tried drying their razor after use, storing their razor in mineral oil or other oils, and others just hang the razor on the wall.

The world of manspaces

I was watching a video over at TED.com (see below) about manspaces and it got me thinking, would I ever build a manspace? My thoughts all point to yes, I would. I realized that my dad has his manspace, his custom poker room. I have friends who have created manspaces in their garage. Do you have a manspace?

October 14th is Be Bald and Free Day

I'm really shocked that I didn't know this before, but October 14th is Be Bald and Free Day. Here at Sly Bald Guys we let guys know that everyday is a day to embrace your baldness and live free from many of the social pressures that make a guy want hair. Though, it's nice to know that there is a day to shine (pun intended) a light on the subject of baldness and that it isn't as a big of deal as many men make it out to be.

M5 Magnum Razor Reviews

The M5 Magnum razor is getting some great reviews on the Sly Bald Guys forum. Here's what one of the guys had to say:

"Just a short while ago I bought this razor. It is simillar to the Gilette Fusion 5 Blade, but the only difference other than to me that it gives a way better shave than the Gilette Fusion, is the price.

Like the Fusion, the M5 razor has 5 blades for shaving, and 1 persision blade. It has a sleek handle, and in my opinion gives a way better shave than the Fusion.

To buy a Fusion it normally costs 14.99$ for the handle with one blade, and for replacement blades depending on weather or not you get the 4 or 8 pack, anywhere from 20-30 bucks, if you are getting the regular razor and not the power ones, which is the biggest ripoff in razors because the power and the regular Fusion both give the same shave, the only difference is the cash you have to pay for the power. For the M5, they dont have a power, but the razor itself provides an excellent shave.

For the razor itself, the M5 only costs 6.00$ in change, and it comes with the handle and 2 blades, unlike the Fusion which only comes with the handle and 1 blade. To buy replacements, a 4 pack of blades only costs 6.00$. So if you buy the handle and the 4 pack of blades, your total comes to 12.00$ before taxes, so 6 blades and the handle. To buy the handle with 2 blades and the 4 pack of replacement blades, is cheaper than just buying the Fusion handle with one blade.

So aside from the cost, in my oppinion this razor works very well, way better than the Fusion. So far the only place I know that sells this razor is Wal-Mart. I encourage anyone who may use the Gilette Fusion to pick up and switch to the M5 razor. You will feel the difference in the shave, and the difference in your wallet!"
